Policies and Procedures

Child Protection

Our nursery plays an important role in supporting families and in providing services to children. The nursery works in partnership with the Local Authority, and your child's welfare will be monitored. We will be alert to the rare circumstances when children may be at risk of harm from others outside the nursery environment. Should we be concerned that any child in our care is being neglected or abused, confidential discussion between the child's key worker and the nursery manager would take place and the appropriate agencies would be contacted to follow up our concerns.

Special Needs

Our policy is to welcome children with additional needs, whether these are physical, behavioural or learning difficulties. We will look together with the parent to integrate a child who has additional needs into the nursery, so that the needs of the child can be met using individual target sheets.

Equal Opportunities

We value and respect the different racial origins, religious, cultures and languages in a multi-racial society, so that each is valued as an individual without racial gender stereotyping, therefore each child giving respect and value to each other.

Behaviour Management

Children develop and flourish in an environment in which everyone knows what is expected of them, and children are free to devlop their play and learning without fear of being hurt or hindered by anyone else. Therefore we aim for a situation in which children develop self discipline and self esteem in an atmosphere of mutual respect and encouragement. Any behaviour problems will be handled in a development appropriate fashion respecting individual levels of maturity.
